Dr Samantha Abel - Director

picture of SamSam is an experienced clinical pharmacologist and medical writer with over 15 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Prior to setting up Valley Writing Solutions, she worked for a global pharmaceutical company initially as a Clinical Research Associate and then for over 10 years as the primary clinical pharmacology representative to global development teams. Sam’s roles have included Clinical Lead for early development candidates and Global Clinical Pharmacology Lead for advanced candidates through to regulatory approval in major markets including the US and EU. Sam has authored numerous documents including over 100 clinical protocols, study reports, clinical contributions to Investigators Brochures, regulatory briefing packages and submission documents, manuscripts and posters/presentations (10 first-author). She has reviewed and edited many more. Sam has a PhD in pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism from the University of Liverpool, UK.
Sam is an active member of the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA).

 

Dr Michèle Underhill - Director

picture of MicheleMichèle is an experienced medical writer and prior to setting up Valley Writing Solutions worked for a medical communication agency specialising in Urology. During this time Michèle was involved in writing abstracts and posters for scientific meetings, drafting strategy planning documents and updating website content. Before becoming a medical writer, Michèle completed post-doctoral research specialising in molecular biology and cell culture engineering. She is first name author on 6 peer-reviewed manuscripts and co-author on a further 5 papers. Michèle has also worked within the Pharmaceutical Industry as a research scientist and has a full understanding of the drug development process. Michèle obtained a PhD in Biochemistry and an MSc in Biotechnology from the University of Kent, UK. Michèle is an active member of the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) and is currently enrolled in their professional development programme.
